Why Do I Need Restorative Yoga?

Restorative Yoga often incorporates a variety of props to bring the ground UP to meet your body. You may use bolsters, pillows, blankets, straps, blocks and eye pillows.


Some of us feel that when we take the time and choose to workout we want RESULTS. We crave that sweat, that burn, so we can build muscle or lose weight.


Vinyasa and Hatha are great for that. Strength for Stability and Flow for Flexibility.


Your Yoga practice should be about balance, there is a time and place for different forms of Asana ('yoga'). We need to slow down too.


How can RESTORATIVE YOGA help me?

These prolonged and comfortable poses relax your body into the parasympathetic mode which helps the body activate it’s innate healing abilities→magic!


Well not really, it’s science.


SCIENCE...

Your nervous system is the bridge between your body and your brain. It controls: body temperature, breathing, heartbeat, thoughts, emotions, learning and memory to name a few.


You have the sympathetic nervous system and the parasympathetic nervous system.

Your sympathetic nervous system is your fight or flight. Useful of course, when necessary, in small amounts. You don’t want to live here. However, a lot of us do.

Your parasympathetic nervous system is your rest and digest mode. You feel safe and relaxed here.


SO… Take care of this bridge!


Enter into rest and digest mode by engaging in RESTORATIVE YOGA with a focus on your BREATH and MEDITATION.


TO… Calm your body AND your mind.

Be comfortable with stillness & silence.

Be comfortable with yourself.


Everything is temporary, change is happening every second.

So JUST BE in the moment.

Acceptance.

Gratitude.

Presence.


Heal.

Chill.

Enjoy.

See you on the mat.
